Resources

  • Women's & Children's Alliance (Boise/Ada County): Emergency shelter, crisis hotlines, counseling, and court advocacy for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. https://wcaboise.org/

  • Idaho Council on Domestic Violence & Victim Assistance: a statewide clearinghouse connecting victims to local shelters, safe homes, and (in some areas) emergency motel housing, plus referrals to medical care. https://icdv.idaho.gov/

  • WIC (Women, Infants & Children): supplemental food, health care referrals, and nutrition education specifically for low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, plus kids up to age 5. https://healthandwelfare.idaho.gov/services-programs/food-assistance/apply-wic

  • Idaho Volunteer Lawyers Program (IVLP) — Free 30-minute legal consultations, plus clinics that help with wills, power of attorney, and self-help legal forms for those without significant assets. https://ilf.idaho.gov/ivlp/

  • Free crisis services for anyone affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, elder abuse, stalking, or human trafficking including crisis counseling, support groups, and case management, with no judgment, no waitlists, and no fees. They now have two locations (Boise and Meridian). https://facesofhopeidaho.org/

  • Free, confidential, peer-led support groups for adults living with mental illness, plus a separate group for family members and caregivers. No registration required. https://namiidaho.org/support-and-education/support-groups/

  • The Idaho Food bank: runs a statewide food assistance locator, senior nutrition programs, and mobile pantries; also lists Cooking Matters, a free 6-week nutrition/budgeting course. https://idahofoodbank.org/

  • SNAP (Idaho): helps low-income households buy groceries via EBT card; benefits can arrive within 7 days for those who qualify for expedited service. https://idalink.idaho.gov/

  • Idaho Diaper Bank: Distributes free diapers monthly through partner sites (churches, food pantries, family justice centers) across the Treasure Valley; diapers aren't covered by SNAP or WIC, so this fills a real gap. https://idahodiaperbank.org/

  • Free Yoga: On instagram there is a page dedicated to free yoga in Boise. They post free classes in advance for anyone interested in attending! Their Instagram is: yogasbf

  • Love Heals Free Clinic: nonprofit founded in 2017, offering free medical, dental, and vision services to underserved individuals and communities. All staffed by board-certified professionals and supervised students/volunteers. They run periodic pop-up clinic events rather than a single fixed daily location, so people typically need to check their "Get Care" page for upcoming clinic dates. https://www.lovehealsfreeclinic.org/get-care/
